I wanna make my alter and I want to know of some cool, durable materials. I've seen people at conventions with alters, and I want to make one too.

Most of the well-done convention armors, alters, and the like are made out of a product called Wondeflex. If you're working in small details, though, craft foam is a lot cheaper and workable - just not always surdy enough for some huge pieces. Also, model magic is actually used a lot for accessories and such - again, not sturdy enough for large-scale things, butmore workable with small stuff. I once used craft foam to make a replica Suzumebachi for my sister when she cosplayed Soi Fong from Bleach -> see here - if that helps you as an example. It does have the double-edged trait of beng somewhat bendable - you can thus tie it in place to make it fit better without killing it, but if you bend it backwards, for instance, it'll leave an ugly crease.

It would be awesome to make my alter. Guardian would have to be cosplayed though.

Nice job on Suzumebachi. Do you have any pictures of your sister in the full costume by chance? Interested to see how the whole thing turned out.
And judging by the dates on there, I'd say your Bleach board is pretty much a goner, yes? =(
Drat... heh, bigger Bleach fan than I am of s.CRY.ed, was kinda hoping to harass other Bleach fans again.
Back to s.CRY.ed... you better link us the pictures if you make it Forest =P Might inspire me to actually make a costume for once... did Legato from Trigun one Halloween, that's about all, heh ^_^;

I DO draw all the time, so perhaps I'll draw it before anything. I know, I know, not the same, but I gotta start somewhere.

Hey, planning is good, and drawing in this case is very detailed planning. So, more power to ya.

I do have photos, actually... I was pretty proud of that costume, too. Photos are HERE - don't ask me to explain the last one; that was just us fulfilling a request to be... weird and random and ignore any in-character-ness for awhile...yeah. XD Bleach board is unfortunately a goner, sorry. But there are tons of other Bleach forums running around out there - unlike the s-CR-d fandom, Bleach-loving-types aren't hard to track down. Must agree to demands for any and all photos, too. I DO draw all the time, so perhaps I'll draw it before anything. I know, I know, not the same, but I gotta start somewhere. Drawing is about the only way to start. You'll need reference photos if you want to draft patterns, and when you need to go back and look at deails. Best thing is drawings frum multiple angles.

o.0 I swear, that site never ceases to puzzle me.
Hey, when you draw up the designs for this alter, can you scan and post them here? Then if you need any help drafting patterns and stuff, I might be able to help out a bit.
